Kane celebrates his hundredth goal for Bayern Munich
Harry Kane has stated that his enthusiasm in coming back to the Premier League has lessened and he is open to explore a new agreement with Bayern Munich.
The star striker is presently two years through the four-year contract he signed when transferring to from Tottenham Hotspur for £86.4m in the transfer window of 2023.
The 32-year-old forward has scored an impressive 103 goals in 106 appearances for the German club, contributing them win the 2024-25 Bundesliga championship - which was the first major achievement of his notable career.
Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has earlier stated that he would like to see Kane go back to England, where he requires 48 goals to surpass Alan Shearer's all-time Premier League scoring record of 260.
However, the England captain has now indicated that he is no longer as keen about coming back home as he earlier was, and would certainly think about extending his stay in Bavaria.
"In terms of extending longer, I could definitely see that," he remarked.
"I spoke openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those talks with Bayern yet, but if they were to occur I would be willing to talk and have an frank conversation.
"Obviously it relies on how the next year or so unfolds and what we accomplish together. Right now, I would say we are in a excellent moment and I am not considering about anything else.
"In terms of the Premier League, I don't know. If you had inquired me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.
"Now I have been there a couple of years I would probably say that has decreased a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back.
"What I have discovered in my career is that different chances and different timings happen and things align. Going back to my first point with Bayern right now I am totally all in with Bayern."
Milestone Achievements and Future Ambitions
Kane is the record top goalscorer for both Tottenham and England and not long ago became the quickest player this century to hit 100 goals for a club competing in one of Europe's top five leagues, reaching the achievement in just 104 games for Bayern.
However, a trophy had eluded him until he secured the German title last season.
Kane states that he was not sure how he would respond after overcoming his trophy barren spell, but now thinks it has made him hungry for more success.
"When you win a title like I did last year, maybe it could be tempting to go the other way and be like, 'OK I've done what I wanted to achieve'," he added.
"But it's given me more inspiration to do more and be better. I think I've proven that this year.
"I was intrigued in how I would feel after winning a trophy. Obviously there's still a lot more I want to achieve in terms of other trophies and bigger trophies for sure.
"But I think it was always just, in my head, what I was going to feel like after I did achieve winning my first one.
"But for sure, I challenged myself the other way in terms of being even better, maintaining even cleaner, doing more gym. Just trying to get the most out of what I've got right now."
